Tree Cradles (a poem)

Tree Cradles

Made of sticks and leaves
Sealed with mud
In a circle,
Symbol of eternity.
Built to welcome
New life.
Visible only months later
When the cycle of leaves
Comes to the ground
And nature is at rest.

  1. Tree cradles...such a lovely word image.

I was just the other day remarking on the way fall and then winter reveal all the hidden nests (though I did not remark on it nearly as eloquently as you have in this poem).
