Stacked Triangles














Many shades of green triangles

With brown sticks on the bottom,

Grounded in the hillside –

Mountain beauty everywhere.


(I wrote this poem after a recent visit to Portland, Oregon, where I spent time with our daughter, Anna.)

    Ah! I've been to the Smoky Mountains and the Colorado Rockies, and you nailed it: stacked triangles where the evergreens reach en masse to the skies from the mountainside.
